Pauline is a registered clinical psychologist with close to 20 years of experience and is passionate about mental health. She is originally from South Africa where she worked in a vast majority of settings and gained diverse knowledge and skills in treating a variety of psychiatric difficulties. These include schools, foster homes, correctional services as well as psychiatric, forensic and general hospitals (with both voluntary, assisted and involuntary mental health care users) as well as private practice. She is currently working in private practice and consults for Queensland Correctional Services.
She offers individual therapy to adolescents (14 years and above) and adults. She also offers supervision to provisional and early career psychologists as well as supervision for the clinical psychology registrar programme.
Starting therapy can be really hard and Pauline offers a safe, non-judgemental and empathic space for you to start your journey whether it be for healing, personal development and growth or how to manage mental illness. Pauline believes in assisting you through providing coping skills as well as helping you cope with the underlying difficulties. Pauline’s therapeutic paradigm is psychodynamic in orientation, and she incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) into her therapeutic approach.
