Fees

At My Psych Clinic, we invest in our psychologists who are committed to delivering exceptional client care.

We are a private billing clinic and do not bulk bill, and there will be an out-of-pocket amount.

Payment is required at the time of consultation by credit card, debit card or cash.

The current Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee is $318 per hour. My Psych Clinic fees are listed in the table below.

To be eligible to receive psychological services under Medicare, a person must be referred by their GP and in some instances by another medical specialist. Speak to your GP about your eligibility to claim these Medicare benefits and the best person to make your referral.

Cognitive assessments

You will be quoted a fee prior to any formal assessment depending on the type of assessment. There are no Medicare rebates for assessments and associated reports. Generally fees range between $1,700 to $3,500, including the comprehensive report. During an assessment it sometimes becomes clear that further or different testing is required and this may mean a change in fee. If this happens it will be discussed with you at the time and you will be given choices about how you wish to proceed. Generally, there are no private health fund rebates for this service, however, we recommend you check with your private health fund.

Reports

Reports and some letters from your psychologist will incur additional costs. Please discuss your requirements with your psychologist. Payment will be required before the letter or report can be provided.

After-Hours Surcharge

Appointments booked outside regular office hours will incur a $25 after-hours surcharge. This applies to appointments scheduled from 5 pm onwards on weekdays and all weekend appointments.

Medicare Rebates

With a valid referral from your General Practitioner, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician you can access Medicare rebates. We are unable to take responsibility for eligibility or the processing of Medicare rebates, although we will endeavour to assist where we can. Please note that Medicare currently does not provide rebates for couples therapy.

NDIS

We are not a registered NDIS provider, we are a private practice and set our own fees. We are only able to see NDIS clients who are plan managed or self-managed. For all third party billers, payment is required upfront, and the client is responsible for arranging reimbursement. For plan managed clients who would like us to assist with claiming the NDIS portion directly from your plan manager, please speak to reception.

Private Health Fund Rebates

If you have private health insurance that covers psychological services, we're happy to assist you with processing claims and providing quotes when you visit.
While each health fund offers different levels of coverage, we can swipe your card during your appointment to check your eligibility and potential rebate amount on the spot. To avoid any surprises, we recommend checking with your health fund before your first appointment.

WorkCover

My Psych Clinic may be able to bill WorkCover directly, however, Workcover does not cover our full fee for all of our clinicians, therefore an out of pocket amount may be payable at the time of your consultation.

We require the following information regarding your claim: claim number, approved number of sessions, and Claim Manager's details. It is your responsibility to confirm eligibility for Workcover. If the claim is declined, unfortunately, you will be responsible for payment of the full fee.

Payment plans

We are able to offer payment plans for cognitive assessments to help break the cost over time. Please contact reception to enquire about how to split payments for assessments.

Payment Platforms

We use Tyro Health Online for both online and in-person payments and rebates. Online payments may include a small preauthorisation amount, which will be refunded upon completion of payment. Please feel free to discuss any concerns with us.
