Fees
At My Psych Clinic, we believe in providing an affordable service for clients with competitive fees. The current Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommended fee is $300 per hour.
To be eligible to receive psychological services under Medicare, a person must be referred by their GP and in some instances by another medical specialist. Speak to your GP about your eligibility to claim these Medicare benefits and the best person to make your referral.
Our fee structure is as follows :
*Cognitive assessments: Fees for assessments vary depending on a variety of factors, including the assessment measures needed and the number of sessions required. However, generally fees range between $1,700 to $3,000, including the comprehensive report. During an assessment it sometimes becomes clear that further or different testing is required and this may mean a change in fee. If this happens it will be discussed with you at the time and you will be given choices about how you wish to proceed.
Private Health Fund Rebates:
It is your responsibility to verify your coverage and eligibility with your private health fund to determine if rebates apply to your psychological services. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide exact rebate amounts without physically processing your card for a quote. Alternatively, you may contact your private health insurer directly to inquire about rebate amounts for your sessions.
Reports:
If you require a report from your psychologist, additional costs will be incurred. Please discuss your requirements with your psychologist.
Third-Party Billing:
My Psych Clinic does not directly bill third parties for consultations. Payment is required upfront, and you are responsible for arranging reimbursement.
Medicare Rebates:
If eligible for Medicare rebates, we can assist in processing claims. Please note, however, that we do not assume responsibility for eligibility or rebate processing. Please note that Medicare currently does not provide rebates for couples therapy, cognitive assessments, parenting sessions without the child present, and certain other specific situations.
Payment Platforms:
We utilise Medipass for online payments and rebates, and Tyro for in-person payments and rebates. Online payments may include a small preauthorisation amount, which will be refunded upon completion of payment. Please feel free to discuss any concerns with us.
After-Hours Surcharge:
Appointments booked outside regular office hours will incur a $25 after-hours surcharge. This applies to appointments scheduled from 5 pm onwards on weekdays and all weekend appointments.
