Michelle has over 10 years of experience working across a number of diverse settings, including public mental health, private practice, research and university settings, as well as developing mental health policy and guidance for mental health services in the UK.
She enjoys working with people of all different ages and backgrounds, and getting to learn about each person’s story and way of seeing the world. Michelle uses a warm, compassionate, supportive and holistic approach to therapy, and works to ensure that people have a safe and comfortable space to explore their needs, wants and goals in life.
Her main therapy approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as using Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Michelle also has an interest in conducting cognitive and learning assessments with children, adolescents and adults, to explore their strengths and weaknesses as a way to help them better understand themselves and finding ways to improve their life.
Michelle is a Board-approved supervisor, and provides clinical supervision to psychologists, clinical psychology registrars, and psychology university placement students.
