Lachlan is a warm and compassionate Registered Psychologist who believes that finding the right support should feel easy and collaborative. He enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, bringing compassion, open communication, and an active interest in understanding their unique perspective and life experiences. Lachlan welcomes people of all cultures, ages, neurotypes, genders and sexualities.
Lachlan draws on evidence-based strategies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), integrating them into a personalised approach to help his clients manage or improve their mental health. He has experience supporting clients with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties, including stress management, low mood, anxiety and trauma. Lachlan has a particular interest in working with addiction and people who are managing chronic health conditions. He also has an interest in working with neurodivergent individuals, recognising the importance of meeting clients where they are at and working with their neurotype to achieve their therapy goals.
Before becoming a psychologist, Lachlan was a high-school music teacher for two years, and then went on to complete a Master of Psychology at the University of Queensland after seeing the impact that mental health can have on young people’s engagement in school. Outside the clinic, Lachlan lives locally in Brisbane and has many hobbies, including hiking, bush camping, table top role playing games and cooking.
